I don’t think I’ve ever posted any of my breakfast type dishes on my food blog before. It’s really quick and simple dishes but it never occurred to me that maybe someone reading my blog is looking for just that. Here’s a quick and savory Indian style egg dish that I make for my man that he loves.
You will need- 1/4 of an Onion, half tsp garlic, Cumin, Chili Pepper, Turmeric, Garam Masala spices and Salt.
3 Egg Whites
This is to serve one person. All you do is saute 1/4 of a small chopped onion in either olive oil spray to a non-stick pan for a low calorie version or you can use 1 tsp butter if you are looking for more flavor and don’t mind the added calories. Add half of a tsp of chopped garlic and saute both until golden. While that is cooking, in a small bowl combine 2 egg whites and 1 regular egg (or once again for less calories just use 3 egg whites) Add to these eggs 1 tsp Cumin, 1/2 tsp Chili Powder, 1/4 tsp Turmeric and just a pinch of Garam Masala spice and salt to your liking. You can find all of these Indian spices for a great price in an Indian Market- avoid the grocery stores as the prices are nearly double. After you add all the spices in- with a fork whisk it really good until all the spices and lumps are gone. Add to your pan of onions and scramble and or let it sit and come together like an omelet. You can also add a chopped Jalapeno if your looking for some real heat to this dish. 😉
